You can be up and running in less than 30 minutes with
our Quick Start booklet. Complete your statistical analysis in less than
an hour.
What kind of technical support
options are available?
Your questions will be answered free by one of three
PhD statisticians on our technical support staff. We will answer your
telephone questions between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mountain Time. You can
also email your questions to
support@ncss.com. We will answer your email queries, usually
within a few hours.
Can I try NCSS, PASS, or GESS before I buy
them?
You can download free, functional 7-day trial copies
of PASS 2008, NCSS 2007, and GESS 2006 by clicking
here.
During the trial period, NCSS and GESS are limited to 100 rows of data.
After the trial period has passed, you can purchase a serial number that
will unlock the program, and it will become the professional release of
the program.
Does NCSS offer a guarantee?
If you are not completely
satisfied with an NCSS product during the first
30 days for any reason, return the program for a
full, prompt refund (excluding shipping).
What advantages does NCSS give me?
NCSS has several strengths. It is very easy to learn
and use. It has a comprehensive list of available procedures. All
calculations are accurate. You can import/export data from about 30
different spreadsheets and databases. Output reports are ready to
transfer to your word processor. The price is about half that of the
competition. You can have your questions answered by a PhD statistician.
What advantages does PASS give me?
PASS calculates sample size and power for more
statistical procedures than any other software package on the market.
PASS is easy to use. All calculations are accurate and verified, with
references supplied in the output. Output reports are ready to
transfer to your word processor. You can have your questions answered by
a PhD statistician.
What advantages does GESS give me?
GESS makes statistical analysis of microarray data
easier than ever before. GESS is based on a familiar spreadsheet data
system. GESS performs both basic (fold-change, clustering, etc.) and
advanced (repeated measures ANOVA, GLM ANOVA, multiple regression, etc.)
statistical procedures at the click of a button. GESS imports data
from all major array platforms.
How does the
price compare to the competition?
PASS 2008 is priced at
$749.95 for academic/government users, and $999.95 for commercial users. NCSS
2007 is priced at $499.95 for academic, government, and commercial
users. NCSS 2007 with GESS 2006 is priced at $749.95. These prices are much lower than
those of our main competitors. With NCSS, PASS, and GESS, you get much,
much more
for less.
How easy
is the program to use?
NCSS, PASS, and GESS are very easy to learn and use. The
user interface is similar to that of Word and Excel, so you probably
already know how to run it. The online help gives you the information
you need to know quickly and easily.

What are
the system requirements to run NCSS, PASS, and/or GESS?
PASS 2008, NCSS 2007, and GESS 2006 run on
32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000 NT, ME, 98, or 95
on
Pentium-class computers with at least 32 MB of RAM.
Requires up to 200 MB of hard disk space.
Older versions of NCSS and PASS (e.g. PASS 2005, NCSS 2004, or earlier) will
only run on 32-bit systems with Windows XP or earlier.
Are
NCSS, PASS, and GESS compatible with Windows 7, Vista, and XP?
Yes. PASS 2008, NCSS 2007, and GESS
2006 are
all
compatible
with Windows 7, Vista, and XP.
Older
versions of NCSS and PASS (e.g. PASS 2005, NCSS 2004, ore earlier) will
only run on Windows XP or earlier.
Will
NCSS, PASS, and GESS run on 64-bit operating systems?
Yes. PASS 2008, NCSS 2007, and GESS 2006
will install and run just fine on 64-bit operating systems.
Older
versions of NCSS and PASS (e.g. PASS 2005, NCSS 2004, and earlier) will
only run on 32-bit systems.

Is there a Mac version of NCSS, PASS, and GESS?
No. Not yet. For now, the only way to use
NCSS, PASS, and GESS on a Mac is with a Windows emulator running.
