Update Release Notes

This page lists the changes that have been made to PASS 2024 since it was released.

Version: 24.0.6

Released: July 11, 2025

1. Corrected a display issue with the Procedure Window. In some cases when the Procedure Window was scrolled, changing an option in a dropdown box would cause the window inputs to misalign and appear crammed at the top of the window. This has been corrected.

Version: 24.0.5

Released: March 10, 2025

1. Corrected an error in the Tests for Two Groups using the Win-Ratio Composite Endpoint procedure. When solving for sample size with Group Allocation set to "Enter N1, solve for N2", the resulting group sample size (N2) was too large. This has been corrected.

2. Corrected an error that caused Message Boxes to appear behind other windows in some cases, so that they could not be seen.

Version: 24.0.4

Released: January 20, 2025

1. Corrected a visual error on 4 mediation procedure input windows. When solving for βᴍ (Reg Coef of M), the corresponding input box for βᴍ was not being hidden from view properly. This error did not affect the actual calculations.

Version: 24.0.3

Released: November 13, 2024

1. Corrected an error in the Confidence Intervals for One-Sample Sensitivity and Specificity procedure when solving for Sample Size. The error occurred when the Specificity is the parameter that drives the sample size, in the reporting of the Specificity column for C.I. Width. The procedure now gives the correct Confidence Interval Width for Specificity.

2. Corrected an issue with the Procedure Window Help Center display. The Height of the Help Center would increase slightly each time a procedure was opened for some Application Zoom settings.

3. Corrected an error in the Logrank Tests procedure. When using the Mortality input type and using a spreadsheet column for M1, the mortality ratio (MR) values were not computed correctly.

4. Corrected a documentation typo in the formula for the strata sample sizes (n_h) under optimum allocation in the Confidence Intervals for One Proportion in a Stratified Design and Confidence Intervals for One Mean in a Stratified Design procedures. This error did not affect actual software calculations, which were correct.

5. Corrected “Out of Memory” and rare calculation errors in the Two-Stage Designs for Tests of One Proportion (Simon) procedure.

6. Corrected significant power and sample size calculation errors in the following 6 procedures:
1. Non-Inferiority Tests for the Difference Between Two Poisson Rates in a Cluster-Randomized Design,
2. Superiority by a Margin Tests for the Difference Between Two Poisson Rates in a Cluster-Randomized Design,
3. Non-Inferiority Tests for the Ratio of Two Poisson Rates in a Cluster-Randomized Design,
4. Superiority by a Margin Tests for the Ratio of Two Poisson Rates in a Cluster-Randomized Design,
5. Non-Inferiority Tests for Vaccine Efficacy using the Ratio of Two Poisson Rates in a Cluster-Randomized Design,
6. Superiority by a Margin Tests for Vaccine Efficacy using the Ratio of Two Poisson Rates in a Cluster-Randomized Design.

Version: 24.0.2

Released: February 28, 2024

1. Corrected an error that occurred during license key activation in some cases.

Version: 24.0.1

Released: January 23, 2024

1. Initial Release of PASS 2024

As Statistician teaching statistics in the University, I have to say that NCSS is the tool that I have used since 1997. With all the procedures that you need for research or to make a good, informative presentation, it can be used for teaching in a university. Here in Idesem-Chile we have found it to be the best tool to support our measurement activities. I recommend this tool to make your job more enjoyable!

Frank Gallardo Pastore, Ph.D, AIU, CEO

I have used several statistics tools, but NCSS is the best statistics tool. It is easy to use because the interface and menu are easy to be used. And NCSS is very useful to support an analysis [in] data research.
