Description:
[Tip 1: Examples]
Every procedure in NCSS has one or more examples. Each example is described in the procedure documentation. For quick access to the example documentation of the procedure, you can click the “Examples” button in the “Help Center”. The first example is often the example that is detailed the most.
If you wish to run an example, the options may be specified one at a time in the procedure, or they may be opened collectively using an example template. To open the settings collectively, click on “Open Example Template” in the Help Center, and select the desired example. Clicking “OK” loads the template settings.
The name of the dataset corresponding to the example is usually included at the end of the example template name and may be opened by clicking the “Open Example Data” button.
The procedure can then be run to see the results in the NCSS output window. The results will be the same as those discussed in the example documentation.
[Tip 2: Adjusting Output appearance]
There are some useful options for customizing the appearance of the output.
The user has the ability to add (or remove) lines to the titles to improve separation of report sections.
Title line color and text color for page headers, titles, and reports may also be specified individually.
These options are accessed by selecting “Options” from the File menu or Home menu of any of main windows of NCSS software. On the System Options window, select the “Reports” tab to make the changes.
[Tip 3: Opening and closing a procedure or NCSS]
When any procedure in NCSS is opened for the first time, it will open with its default values. When any procedure is closed or when the procedure is run, the settings and values are saved. Thus, when any procedure is re-opened, it opens with the values and settings that were shown when the procedure was last closed.
[Tip 4: Citation]
The proper citation for the use of NCSS software is obtained by going to the Help menu, and clicking on “Citation”.
